First meeting of the heads of the criminal police offices of the German federal states. Later on, it is renamed "Working Group of the heads of the state criminal police offices with the Bundeskriminalamt" (CID Working Group), headed by the BKA president since 1951.

Establishment of an escort unit

1951 Escort unit with vehicles on the premises of Villa Selve in Bonn  (refer to: Establishment of an escort unit)

Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer gives the "strict order" to establish an escort unit "of about 100 men" for the protection of the Federal President and the members of the Federal Government under the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Promulgation of the BKA Law

Promulgation of the "Law on the Establishment of a Federal Criminal Police Office" (BKA Law) , which comes into force on 15 March 1951

The Federal Government designates Wiesbaden as the future BKA headquarters

New Division "Protection Group"

1951 - Office building of the "Protection Group" Division in Bonn  (refer to: New Division "Protection Group")

26 criminal police officers and 1 administrative officer take up work at the "Protection Group" Division (Division SG) in Bonn which becomes part of the Bundeskriminalamt. In 1951 it is, among other things, housed in a rebuilt horse barn on the premises of Villa Selve in the Bonn city area.

"Criminal Police Office for the British Zone" is integrated into the Bundeskriminalamt

By decree of the Federal Government, the "Criminal Police Office for the British Zone" is integrated into the Bundeskriminalamt as the "Hamburg Branch".

Organisational change of the "Protection Group"

Having both preventive and repressive functions, the "Protection Group" Division undergoes an organisational change. It is divided into:
- Standing operations (Personal protection)
- Subdivision I
- Investigations - Subdivision II

The "Forensic Science" Division moves to Wiesbaden

The "Forensic Science" Division (Division KT) is the first part of the BKA to move from Hamburg to Wiesbaden. It is housed in a former youth hostel.
