Liability for contents and links

The information on this website has been researched and prepared with the greatest possible care. However, the possibility that errors were made during the process cannot be ruled out. As the content provider, the BKA is responsible for its own material, which it makes available to others under the general provisions of the law. No liability can be assumed for the accuracy, completeness or up-to-dateness of this website, despite it having been checked very carefully. In particular, the BKA accepts no responsibility for any possible damages or consequences resulting from the direct or indirect use of the contents offered.
A distinction is to be made between the BKA's own content and hyperlinks (external links) to content offered by other providers. This third-party material does not come from the BKA, nor is it possible for the BKA to influence the content of third party web pages. The respective provider or operator is exclusively responsible for the content of their linked web pages. No unlawful content was identified at the time the links were created. There is no obligation on our part to permanently monitor content provided by others. However, upon learning of infringements of the law we will remove such links immediately.
We would be grateful for any information and corrections in this regard. Please use our contact form for this purpose.

Data privacy statement

You can in principle use our website without disclosing your identity.
Each time our server is accessed, data is stored for a limited period of time by our provider for statistical and security purposes. Anonymised statistical evaluation is carried out to determine the number of visitors to our homepage and web pages on our website. In cases of serious infringements of our terms of use and unauthorised access or attempted access of our server we reserve the right, in compliance with statutory requirements for individual data records, to initiate a search of personal data.
Should you send us a message using the contact form or email, your data will be used for correspondence with you.
Should we receive a message from you via the contact form or email, we will assume that we are authorized to respond by email. You must otherwise specifically designate a different channel of communication.
The transmission to the BKA of content contained in the contact form takes place over an encrypted https connection.
Email communications may be subject to security flaws. For example, emails sent to the BKA can be intercepted by experienced Internet users, who can then inspect the contents.
When you use the contact form, in addition to the content of the data fields your IP address is also transmitted to the BKA. This is also the case with regard to all email correspondence.
Before sending the contact form you will be asked for your consent to transmit and store the IP address.
The IP address is used exclusively in the context of state law enforcement measures and steps to avert a danger in compliance with statutory requirements.
Enquiries from the general public, both in paper and electronic form, are stored in accordance with the time limits set out in the Registry Directive covering the processing and management of records in federal ministries, which supplements the Joint Rules of Procedure of the Federal Ministries (GGO). The Bundeskriminalamt is a subordinate agency to the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
