In 2014, 1.032 deaths due to drug consumption were registered in Germany. Compared to 2013, this number increased around 3 per cent. The majority of drug-related deaths was male (85 per cent), the average age increased to 38 years. Additionally, the number of drug-related cases increased about 9 per cent to 276.734. 20.120 first-time users were registered in Germany, which is a significant development of 5 per cent increase compared to the preceding year.
