This year's Autumn Conference of the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) will be held at the Kurfürstliches Schloss in Mainz from 19 to 20 November 2014.

Within the framework of the BKA Autumn Conference 2014, there will be an official ceremony on 19 November in which the Federal Minister of the Interior, Thomas de Maizière, will bid farewell to the retiring BKA President, Jörg Ziercke, after nearly eleven years at the top of the agency. Subsequently, the future BKA President, Holger Münch, will be inaugurated in office.

The central topic on the second day of the event will be Organised Crime.

Hardly any other crime phenomenon is as complex and dynamic as organised crime. In today's globalised and highly technical world, organised crime covers a range of various crime fields. It bears a high risk and damage potential, and its suppression has been playing an important role for years. This year's BKA Autumn Conference addresses the issue of "Organised Crime" from different perspectives by discussing response requirements and strategies to be adopted by the security agencies.
